National Association of Town Watches (NATW) National Night Out (NNO)
The Annual National Night Out (NNO) is a unique Crime and Drug Prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). National Night Out, 'America's Night Out Against Crime,' was introduced by the National Association of Town Watches in 1984. The first year, 400 communities in 23 states participated in National Night Out. Nationwide, 2.5 million Americans took part in 1984. The seed had been planted. In subsequent years, participation has grown steadily. The 19th Annual National Night Out on August 6, 2002 involved 33 million people in 9,700 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. This map of the United States allows you to see a partial list of areas that were registered for National Night Out 2003. The list is organized by state, and the listing for each state can be viewed by clicking on the abbreviation for the state. National Night Out: Online Registration Once registered, coordinators receive an ORGANIZATIONAL KIT filled with 'how-to' materials such as: promotional ideas, guidelines, tips, Q&A's, camera-ready art, sample news releases and proclamations, etc. You will also receive National Night Out"Updates" during the period leading up to the event.
